Road trips with your friends can be an incredibly fun an rewarding experience. Going on the open road, windows down, wind in your hair, snacks and more. But what happens when you take a road trip with a baby? Your child is the love of your life, we get it, but that doesn’t stop them from being a difficult companion to plan around and care for. That’s why in the following article we talk about things you should consider doing before and during your next car trip with the little one. Zena’s Suitcase is to thank for this list.
- Planning your stay. Planning your trip is hard enough, but you also have to think about where you will be staying with your baby and if the people you will be staying with will be accommodating to the baby. Who are these people, are they friends or family? Do they know how to handle a baby in the house and do you trust them to help care for the baby?
- Do a pre-dive safety check. Make sure your car is good to go before you go. This includes checking your tires, making sure you’re oiled up and that all your lights and indicators are working. This might be a long drive. You don’t want any issues that take away your attention from the road and your baby.
- Plan your route. Planning a road trip with a baby is hard enough, so you should take the 5-10 minutes and really make sure you’ve got a good route planned out, with as little traffic or construction as possible.
